A fresh milestone for Tesla isn’t likely to provide a lasting benefit.
The electric car company is slated to report third-quarter vehicle deliveries sometime next week, and Wall Street expects a big number. Analysts on average expect that 98,000 cars were delivered in the quarter, according to FactSet. That would mean 16% growth from a year earlier and mark Tesla’s second consecutive record, after delivering slightly more than 95,000 cars in the second quarter.
