Somebody vandalized several gas pumps in Milford. Police seek suspect - Milford Daily News

MILFORD — Police are searching for a man who they say smashed several gas pumps by hand Monday night at the Cedar Street Mobil station.

"Most of the gas pumps were severely damaged with glass shattered," Milford police said in a press relaese, "and several gas holsters were found on the ground."

A video released by police shows a man in a hoodie and shorts taking gas pump nozzles from their holsters, then rearing back and striking the LED displays with them. Another video shows him throwing a set of movable stairs.

Police said initial reports described a hooded male wielding a machete and smashing pumps at the Granite Gulf station, also on Cedar Street (Rte. 85), but police said they found no damage there.

Videos provided by police show no machete.

Police say footage shows the suspect pacing the lot around 10:15 p.m. before throwing the pumps, and that the attacks lasted about 4 minutes before the suspect ran away.

Damage was also reported at the T-Mobile store and Wendy's restaurant, also on Cedar Street.

Anyone with information helpful to the case is encouraged to call Milford police at 508-473-1113, Ext. 0.
