Property brokers pitching Exxon Mobil's Irving campus for new business - The Dallas Morning News

The new owner of Exxon Mobil’s longtime campus in Las Colinas has hired a commercial property firm to market and manage the property.

Austin-based Capital Commercial Investments acquired the 379,000-square-foot office complex and surrounding 290 acres near State Highway 114 in Irving late last year.

ExxonMobil is moving its headquarters from the campus it has occupied since 1996 to the oil giant’s larger site in suburban Houston.

Capital Commercial plans to repurpose the offices at 5959 Las Colinas Blvd. for new businesses and to develop the surrounding vacant land.

The Dallas office of Jones Lang LaSalle has been hired to market the prime real estate — one of the largest development sites left in Las Colinas.

“Las Colinas has long been a magnet for top-tier companies and talent, and this property is no exception,” JLL managing director T.D. Briggs said in a statement.

JLL’s Briggs, Blake Shipley, Ashley Curry, Chris Wright, John Myers and Bill Moebius are handling the project.

The office building fronts on a small lake, and includes a fitness center, cafeteria and multiple conference rooms. It’s located along Carpenter Freeway between downtown Dallas and DFW International Airport.

“With its expansive size and prime location, this Las Colinas campus represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for businesses looking to establish or expand their presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth area,” Doug Agarwal, founder and president of Capital Commercial Investments, said in a statement.

JLL has a long history with the Exxon Mobil property.

The commercial property firm brokered the recent sale to Capital Commercial. JLL principals also represented Exxon when the energy firm relocated its headquarters from Manhattan to Irving in the 1990s.

Capital Commercial is one of North Texas’ largest corporate office owners with other major holdings in Plano and Fort Worth.
