GREENFIELD, Calif. (WKRC) - Authorities have confirmed marked Tesla vehicles will begin patrolling a city's streets.

According to KSBW, the Greenfield Police Department in California announced it will add several Tesla vehicles to its fleet. Per the outlet, the department confirmed that a Model Y cruiser would soon be patrolling the city's streets.

A Tesla Cybertruck prototype was presented to the Greenfield Police Department, which released images of the truck that visited on social media. The department did not confirm it would purchase the Cybertruck, however.

The Greenfield Police Department uploaded video of the Cybertruck on its official Facebook account.

Per KSBW, adding electric patrol vehicles was part of an effort to reduce pollution. Greenfield police told the station that adding electric vehicles would help the city save $15,000 in gas expenses.
