A Mobil gas station and convenience store at 2201 8th Ave., in Greeley, sold recently for $1,017,000, according to a news release by Legend Investment Group vice president Peter Peluso and real estate broker Will Matthews, who facilitated the deal.
According to the news release, after the property had generated interest from numerous groups, it was sold to a local buyer who has plans to continue operating the business.
“After decades in the gas station-operating business, the (previous) owner was ready to retire, and we were able to sell the station to a seasoned operator and first-time buyer,” Matthews said in the news release. “With Greeley growing as quickly as it is, there was a great opportunity to take over and continue to grow the business. We appreciate the hard work from all parties involved in the transaction during this current economic climate.”
The 2,088-square-foot station was built in 1968 and is located a few blocks south of the University of Northern Colorado campus. It sits in close proximity to student housing and newly built family apartments. The site is also situated near heavily-used retail areas and heavily-trafficked U.S. 85.
